I Wish

I wish I could tell him how much I want him

As much as the tides wants to rise up on a moonless night

How the sea foam wants to melt to the touch of the shore

Or how the parched lands long for the rainfall

I wish I could tell him how much I want his gaze

Like how the paragraphs of a book wants to be read

Every line, every word and even all the aching pain

Like how the poet’s tongue kisses the soul and baptized it

I wish I could touch Him, without him thinking if that was smart

Or me recoiling, thinking if that was safe enough

I wish I could tell him I’ve spent nights reciting his name

So that I could lessen its meaning, but it didn’t

I wish I could stop writing about him and talk to him instead

Or stop the brisk thumping of this heart at the sound of his voice

I wish I am strong enough to not be suffocated by these feelings

I wish I could stop wishing, and see it all played outside of my mind

But this is all I can do, So I Wish…
