Ode to a Guarded Girl

You are not a relate-able person
Hollywood wouldn’t make a movie of you
If they do, it would not do you justice
Because being freaking guarded is not an envious quirk

You are the exact opposite of feminine
At a young age you are your own knight
Slaying dragons because the prince is stuck elsewhere
We don’t know where, maybe…cryin?

Thick skin and thick scars are your own personal armor
You taught yourself to forget the taste of any emotions in your mouth
You spit out words not so kindly, for harsh and cruel is your language
All them boys are enemies, none of them are the man they should be

You would be written of as nothing, damaged, a nutcase, cold, unyielding
That’s what the movie portray you, not far from reality though
at least not on the facade, and no one wants to know the truth behind it
Odd because the truth is much more interesting than stories.

If we crack the exterior open, we would see a vulnerable thing
Because it doesn’t mean that not crying is not hurting
What they fail to know is that, if in the first place you didn’t feel so deeply
Why there such a need for walls so high and heavy

Those walls of yours did not manifest overnight, they are built overtime
When you are betrayed, unloved and traumatized
It was then you realized that monsters
are not just inside your head or beneath your bed

You stay safe by being hostile and avoidant
You are called the “Ice queen” uninhabited of all feelings
Because right words, good words does not equal good person
You know that trust is not cheap for it almost cost you your life

Girls are supposed to be warm, soft side should be exposed all the time
All the while you are regarded as a cold blooded one
They fail to see the colossal ardent heart inside
You have as much heart than any girl could have, but a huge heart can break so much

They say “You can’t love” the most meanest thing to say, you love infinitely
You just don’t buy the kind of love that the mainstream world sell
Of flickering images and passion that eventually fades
Because when you love it’ll last, imprinted on your searing heart
